Tucked almost 11,000 feet high in the Rocky Mountains, just north west of Idaho Springs, the short but stunning hike to St. Mary’s Glacier is a perfect taste of alpine Colorado. The trail climbs less than a mile through rugged evergreens and scattered boulders before revealing a breathtaking view - a shimmering lake fed by snow fields that linger year-round. The air is crisp and thin, and the only sounds are the soft rush of meltwater and wind brushing across the ice. Standing at the edge of the glacier, looking down at the world below, there’s a sense of calm - a peaceful moment suspended between earth and sky.
